Seven

Review: Seven is a dark and very disturbing film that punches you in the face and leaves you pondering the filth that sometimes makes up our world. I was on the edge of my seat, wondering in which form would the next sin would come in. To set a ominous feeling for the movie, it's raining in many of the scenes and the picture has a grey look to it. Academy award winners Spacey (American Beauty) and Freeman (Glory, Shawshank Redemption) turn in incredible performances. Brad Pitt (A River Runs Through It) is perfectly cast as the emotional young cop. The end of the film is one of the most intense endings in recent years and an intelligent one at that. When looking at the horror genre, one has to put this film up there amongst the best of all-time (The Shining, Silence of the Lambs, Psycho). Review by Aaron Caldwell
